Who is Magnet Professional best suited for?
Magnet Professional is the perfect plan for publishers, institutions, and edupreneurs who are looking for a powerful, configurable out-of-the-box LMS to deliver interactive courses to up to 10,000 Magnet end-users per month.
Magnet Professional offers powerful learning management, configuration, flexibility and integration with third-party solutions, without requiring commitment to a large minimum number of end-users per month. This plan allows you to adjust your business model to your needs, paying only for monthly Magnet end-users that have an active subscription to a product on your platform.
Who is Magnet Education for?
Magnet Education is ideal for publishers, institutions and edupreneurs that deliver their learning products to 10,000 Magnet end-users per month or more.
With Magnet Education, the price for end-users is greatly reduced. We recommend this plan where a commitment can be made to a minimum of 10,000 monthly Magnet end-users.
By selecting Magnet Education, you also have access to 15 seats in Avallain Author, compared to the three seats included in Magnet Professional, thus boosting the productivity of much larger content creation teams with the necessary workflow features.
How does Avallain Magnet define a chargeable end-user?
Avallain Magnet usage is billed as MAUA (Monthly Activated User Accounts), in the first week of the following month in arrears.
An Activated User Account is a User Account that has at least one active subscription to a product at any point in time in a given month. A User Account that has more than one active subscription to products still only counts as one Activated User Account in a given month.
The maximum (not total!) amount of MAUA reached in a given month determines the number of chargeable MAUA. With the MAUA system, Magnet end-users can be billed in cohorts. This way, you can increase cost-efficiency.
Can you describe a scenario that practically explains the difference between maximum and total amount of MAUA, as well as working with cohorts?
At the start of January, you give a first cohort of 1,000 Magnet end-users access to one or more products with a subscription validity of two weeks.
After the subscription has expired, all user accounts of the first cohort are deactivated, meaning they have no active subscription left to any of the products.
After the deactivation, you give a second cohort of 1,500 end users access to one or more products.
At the end of January, you have provided access to 2,500 Magnet end-users in total and reached 2,500 MAUA in total. However, you will only receive an invoice for the maximum amount of MAUA, minus 30 MAUA already included in the base price.
This means that Avallain Magnet offers great value as you effectively only pay for 1,470 instead of 2,500 Magnet end-users.
Who is Author Team best suited for?
Author Team is perfect for publishers, institutions, content service providers and edupreneurs with small- to mid-sized editorial teams who are looking for an authoring tool and CMS only, without an LMS. Author Team provides robustness and flexibility for small teams that want to create impressive learning content and publish with standard publishing types.
Who is Author Enterprise for?
Author Enterprise is the perfect solution for publishers, institutions and content service providers with large editorial teams, requiring custom hosting options, looking to build native desktop and mobile apps, or publish with custom publishing types.
With the Author Enterprise plan, you have access to enterprise publishing features like the Product Builder, dedicated stage and production environments, dedicated cloud-based or on-premise hosting, and access to the Product Roadmap.
What is an Activity Type?
In Avallain Author, an Activity Type refers to a specific interactive element or exercise that can be incorporated into educational content. Examples of Activity Types in Avallain Author include multiple-choice questions, drag-and-drop exercises, maths activities, free writing tasks, sorting exercises, and more.
These Activity Types are designed to engage learners and facilitate effective learning experiences by allowing them to interact with the content in a variety of ways. Each activity type has its unique features and functionalities catering to different learning objectives and styles.
Avallain Author pricing plans include all pre-built Activity Types, with more than 40 in total. Every plan also includes more than eight gamification Activity Types. With Author Enterprise, you can also request custom Activity Types for an additional fee.
What is a Design Pack?
Design Packs are collections of pre-defined design templates and styles applied to educational content for consistency and visual coherence across learning materials within the platform.
A Design Pack typically includes:
→ Layout templates: Pre-designed layouts with placeholders for text, images, videos, and interactive elements for a consistent structure throughout the content.
→ Colour schemes: Colour palettes that set the overall visual tone of the content, ensuring a cohesive look and feel.
→ Typography settings: Standardised font styles, sizes, and formatting options for readability and aesthetic appeal.
→ Graphic elements: Ready-to-use icons, borders, backgrounds, and other visual elements that enhance the presentation of content.
What are the benefits of using Design Packs?
By using Design Packs in Avallain Author, content creators can streamline the design process, maintain brand consistency, and focus more on crafting engaging and effective educational materials.
With our pre-built, fully responsive Mercury Design Pack, enabled by default in every Avallain Author plan, you don’t need to worry about designing or configuring different end-user interface layouts for different devices. You can create learning content immediately and publish it to your Magnet-powered LMS or any custom learning platform built on Avallain Unity’s infrastructure.
With Author Enterprise, you can request custom Design Packs for an additional fee. Furthermore, you can also configure a Design Pack yourself, but this process requires a high level of programming knowledge.
What is the Product Builder?
Product Builder is an exclusive feature of Author Enterprise plans that allows the creation of content delivery applications for various platforms, using content and structures produced from within Avallain Author. It is fully integrated with all the content creation features to allow seamless delivery of production-ready applications to the end users.
What is the Structure Tool?
Avallain Author allows you to organise Learning Objects and content from the Media Library hierarchically by intuitively creating a structure with the user-friendly Structure Tool. The structure you create can be instantly published to a Magnet-powered LMS, a platform built on Avallain Unity infrastructure, or in other software with the help of the Avallain Product Builder, to bundle individual content items into courses.
What is a Publishing Type?
Avallain Author can be configured to publish its content in a large variety of formats, supporting industry standards such as SCORM, xAPI / TinCan and QTI, making content produced with Avallain Author compatible with all learning management platforms supporting these standards.
Avallain Author comes with a set of default Publishing Types that can be further customised. It is also possible to create new Publishing Types either targeting different formats or different platforms when using seamless publishing.
