A full grounding in Avallain Author’s key features and practical tasks for hands-on-training. It is suitable for complete beginners, or for those who wish to deepen their knowledge..
Video tutorial
10 hours of video-based Avallain Author training, each lesson beginning with a short and informative video tutorial introducing a specific aspect of Author. The interactive course then deepens and tests the knowledge you have acquired.
Practice
At the end of each module, practise your new skills directly in Avallain Author and exchange your ideas within the student community in Avallain Magnet.
Avallain Magnet practice
Complete the course with a 2-4 hour certification module delivered in Avallain Magnet, which will assess your understanding of Avallain Author. In this practical element you will transfer your knowledge into your own Author project and create a course from scratch.
Avallain Author Certified Team Status
Avallain Author Certified Team status for teams of 5 or more certified staff members within a company*. As well as receiving individual and team certificates and badges, Certified Teams are listed on the Avallain website and will be actively communicated to enquiring publishers.
*Companies wishing to qualify an Avallain Author Certified Team must hold a licence for Author Enterprise or Author Team. Avallain Author Certified Teams qualify for a 15% discount on Author Enterprise, or a 30% discount on Author Team.

Frequently asked questions about Avallain Author Certification
When will the course start?
The course starts as soon as your registration and payment have been processed, typically within 15 minutes. You will have 60 days to complete both modules.
When and how will I receive the login details to start the course?
You or your team will receive your login details and instructions to access the course via email once your registration and payment have been processed typically within 15 minutes. Your access to Avallain Author may take slightly longer but typically within a few hours.
Can I take the certification module again if I fail on my first attempt?
To be accredited, you need to pass both modules. If you are unsuccessful when first completing the certification module, there will be an opportunity to retake.
What does the course actually cover?
The course looks at all the elements and options needed to create a complete course ready to be published to your platform. It includes how to set up and manage a project in Avallain Author, LO options, the main activity types, how to create an e-book, how to publish your course and a final course-building exercise which is part of your final assessment. Can I still access the material once I have finished the course?
Yes, you’ll get free access for two years to a special edition of the training module that is constantly updated with lessons on new features.
